I’m new to tarot, and sometimes I lose track of whether I turned a card over before placing it down. Then I start wondering if I’m reading too much into it. What’s a sensible way to handle that?
What do you do when you can’t remember if a card was reversed?

Pick a simple rule for reading card meanings before you start and stick with it. You could read reversals, or decide every card will be upright for now. If you genuinely can’t remember what happened, set that card aside or draw another rather than spinning it. That gives you a consistent process instead of adding another uncertain step.

A moment of uncertainty doesn’t tell you that you secretly wanted a particular answer. It may just mean your attention slipped. You can choose to consider both orientations when you’re unsure, but treat that as your reading method, not proof that the card has a hidden message.

Try making the card handling more deliberate: shuffle, draw, place each card face down, then turn it over in one consistent direction. If the orientation still gets unclear, note it as uncertain and move on. Tarot doesn’t require you to solve every small doubt before you can continue.

That makes sense. I’d rather have a clear method than keep trying to reconstruct a tiny movement after the fact.
