I keep finding histories that stop around the early twentieth century. I’m looking for sources that carry the story further, ideally beyond one particular tradition.
Any good starting points for occult history after the early 1900s?

There may not be one book that gives an even-handed history of every branch through the present. The Triumph of the Moon is a useful route into the history of modern pagan witchcraft, while Occult America gives a broader, more introductory look at American movements. Both have limits, so I’d treat them as starting points rather than complete surveys.

Searching by topic may turn up more recent scholarship than searching only for “occult history.” Try terms like Western esotericism, modern paganism, New Age, and ceremonial magic, along with the period or country you care about. That makes it easier to find focused histories of the postwar decades and to see where different movements overlap without assuming they’re all one continuous tradition.
