Recommendations for Tarot Decks with Rich Storytelling and Depth

Hey everyone! I'm on the hunt for some engaging tarot decks that diverge from traditional Rider-Waite-Smith (RWS) styles but still maintain some of those core elements. I'm interested in decks that really add new layers of meaning through their artwork, interpretations, or symbolism. For instance, I've enjoyed decks like Jesse Lonergan's Unveiled Tarot and Yoshi Yoshitani's Tarot of the Divine because they create intriguing narratives and thematic richness that encourage a fresh perspective on the archetypes.
I particularly appreciate decks that feature:
* Narrative or lore, such as fairy tales, mythology, or coherent world-building that enriches the cards.
* New dimensions to classic RWS meanings.
* A strong guidebook that offers insightful interpretations—this is crucial for me.
On the flip side, I'm not interested in decks that are simply revamped RWS with a different aesthetic, minimalist or abstract decks, or nature-themed depictions leaning towards minimalism (I already own a couple). I'd also prefer to steer clear of pip decks.
Some of my past favorites include:
* This Might Hurt Tarot by Isabella Rotman
* The Spacious Tarot by Annie Ruygt and Carrie Mallon (the High Priestess card here is a personal favorite!)
* Wisdom from the Epics of Hind by Pankhuri Agarwal and Rahul Das (though it's technically an oracle deck, it embodies rich folklore and mythology).
Any suggestions you have would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

I highly recommend The Enchanted Förhäxa. While it's based on RWS, the art feels like a real evolution rather than just a reskin. Each card has its own fairytale-like story in the guidebook, perfect for connecting deeply with the deck!

For something different but intriguing, you might want to consider the Dark Wood Tarot or even the Vice Versa Tarot. The latter has unique cards that show the perspective from behind the person depicted in the cards, which is a fascinating twist.

You should definitely check out the Terra Volatile Tarot. At first glance, it seems very RWS-inspired, but it also incorporates a lot of Thoth elements. It even includes an additional suit focused on personal alchemy! Plus, the guidebook is packed with insights on symbolism and mythology, which can really shift your perspective on traditional meanings.

Artful_Seeker: That deck sounds incredible! I just looked it up, and the artwork is stunning! The extra suit sounds really interesting too. I guess I should start saving up for it since it’s a bit pricey.
