Is My Mom's New House Haunted? Seeking Advice

My mom recently moved into a new house, and she believes it might be haunted. She's encountered several strange occurrences that have left her feeling uneasy. For starters, the doors unexpectedly lock when she goes outside, leaving her locked out multiple times. She's not sure if it's the deadbolt or the door handle acting up.
On another occasion, her boyfriend's motorcycle helmet mysteriously fell off her nightstand without any explanation—there were no fans or air conditioning on. Additionally, one evening, the strings of her ceiling fan started swinging on their own, making a loud noise, despite the fan being off and no wind in the room.
Her boyfriend is too scared to enter the house alone, and her brother wouldn't take kindly to knowing about these incidents if they were kept from him. I haven't experienced any of this myself, but I'm nervous about visiting her. She's curious to know if someone has died in the house or if it might be located on old burial grounds, especially since it's somewhat rural in Texas.
To make matters worse, during a recent storm, one of her dogs became anxious and began clawing at the baseboard, and the door mysteriously deadbolted shut when no one was around. What do you all think? Could it be ghosts? How should she proceed? Would a sage cleansing help, or is there some other ceremony to assist the spirits? Any advice would be appreciated!

I would definitely look into the house's history. There could be something there that explains these occurrences. Checking out local records or news could reveal if anything unusual happened there before your mom moved in.

One classic approach is to visit a local Catholic church and grab some holy water. There’s usually a spot right inside the front where you can fill up a container. Once you’re back home, open all the doors and windows, and sprinkle the water in every room—behind doors and in corners. Just a heads up, though! If you don't believe in the power of the holy water, it might not be as effective!
But if you're looking for something more official, you could even have a priest come over to bless the house. They often offer that service and will usually appreciate some pizza afterwards! Blessed water and salt could help, too—it's pretty simple to do!

It sounds like your mom's place might be genuinely haunted. I can relate! At my job, the bathrooms have locked on their own multiple times, and I would open them to find no one inside. The patrons were always freaking out. If it's that consistent, I'd say you might want to investigate further.
