Can a house affect your energy levels?

Hey everyone! A bit of background: My family moved into this older house about three years ago, and while I appreciate my mother-in-law's help in finding it, I wasn't really involved in choosing the place. It's an old house from the 1960s, and even when I was pregnant, it just felt a bit off and depressing. We did some renovations like painting and changing the floors, but the atmosphere still didn't sit right with me, though I stayed quiet about my feelings.
Over time, I noticed that whenever I walked into the house, I would feel this wave of anger and irritation, almost like it drained my energy. But stepping outside would instantly lift my spirits. After giving birth and going through major postpartum struggles, I've wondered if my initial feelings stemmed from hormonal changes or if something about the house was really sucking the life out of me. I tend to feel things deeply—mentally and emotionally—so it's been tough. Oddly enough, I notice some strange activities happening in the house too, like feeling a presence and hearing weird noises. Basically, I'm getting ready to move, but I'd love to know if anyone else has experienced something like this with their homes or if there's a way to clear the negative energy if that's truly what's going on. Would really appreciate any thoughts you have!

What you’re experiencing is more common than you think! There might be connections to the history of the home or even to relationships like yours with your mother-in-law. Sometimes, simply moving some furniture or adding natural elements can help shift the energy positively. Keeping your own energy up when you’re in there is key too. You got this!

As an interior designer who also practices energy healing, I definitely believe old thoughts and emotions can get stuck in a house. What you're feeling may be linked to someone else's stress that lingers there. If you’re looking to move, that’s great, but in the meantime, I can share some practical tips to help clear out the space—just let me know!

I've seen some stuff on energy cleansing techniques, and it’s true that homes can hold onto lots of stuck energy over time. It might not be evil—just old emotional energy hanging around. Symptoms can include feeling drained or even having plants die despite care. I think doing a house cleansing might help improve the vibes!
Nature_Seeker: Totally! My family had a similar experience with our old place, and when we did a cleanse, the atmosphere changed a ton. Just keep an open mind!
