How Do I Choose the Right Deity to Work With?

Hey everyone! I'm a beginner witch looking to expand my practice and I'm interested in working with a deity. Currently, I engage in activities like tarot reading, affirmations, and I've dabbled with beauty spells—like a beauty jar I made. However, I come from a strict religious background, so I'm a bit hesitant about choosing a deity and fear I might offend someone or do it wrong. I'm looking for guidance on how to find the right deity and any tips on starting this journey would be greatly appreciated. Just to share a little about myself: I have a Mercury in Pisces and a Virgo rising, so I'm blending logic with intuition. I'm also drawn to beauty and crystals like rose quartz and opal. Any insights or recommendations would be amazing! Thanks a lot!

Choosing a deity is a deeply personal experience—it's not something we can just assign to you! Start by reflecting on what draws you to deities. Are there specific qualities or attributes you resonate with? Think about what you’d like from the relationship: guidance, protection, creativity? It might help to explore different pantheons and see which deities catch your attention. Trust your intuition on this journey!

Welcome to the journey! Since you're interested in beauty and have a strong intuition, you might want to explore deities related to love, beauty, or manifestation. Venus, for example, is often associated with these themes. Just make sure to research their stories and see what aligns with you—it's all about creating a meaningful connection.

Starting with personal connection is key. Maybe make a list of deities that spark your interest and research them. Look for qualities that resonate or values you share. Engaging in rituals or offerings could also help forge that relationship once you find someone who resonates with you!
