Why Can't I Read Tarot for Others?

I've noticed that while many people enjoy doing tarot readings for friends or even strangers, I struggle to perform readings when others are watching. They work perfectly for me when I'm alone with my deities, but anytime I try to include another person, the readings feel muddled. Often, the person I'm reading for seems to shut themselves off from the energy and can't handle the answers they receive, especially if they don't like what they hear. I'm starting to wonder if I'm just fooling myself about my abilities or if others experience something like stage fright when reading for others. Does anyone else feel this way?

I completely understand where you’re coming from—I only read for myself. People often ask, but I prefer to keep my practice private. It helps me focus better and keeps my energies clear.

Sometimes it’s the querent who might be the issue, not you. Building confidence in your readings is key, and it comes with experience. You'll get more validation when you start receiving positive feedback. Remember, trust your cards—they're your primary source of guidance. If the pressure of having someone there is too much, consider doing readings online. You can engage with lots of people in various communities without the in-person pressure!

It sounds like stage fright to me—we've all been there! It's more common than you think, and the good news is, you can work through it. I've been reading for over 20 years and still feel those nerves sometimes! When you start feeling anxious, try to pause and bring yourself back to a calm state. Close your eyes and concentrate on your breathing—breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth, making the exhale longer than the inhale. Lean on your deities for support during readings too! But remember, reading for others isn’t a requirement; it’s perfectly okay to keep your practice personal if that feels right for you.
EagerSeeker93: Thank you so much, this is such a huge relief, comfort, and help! Blessings be 🙏🙏

NurturingPath: I'm usually happy just reading alone, but I would like to hone my skill just in case I end up changing my mind or making exceptions!
