Creepy Laughing Noises Outside My Dorm Window – What Should I Do?

I'm in a tight spot and really need some advice. Ever since late November 2025, I've been hearing these strange, menacing laughing noises outside my dorm window. At first, I thought it was just my neighbors having a loud night, but this laughter isn't normal. It freaks me out, sounding like goblins from movies. I decided to record it, but as soon as I started filming, the noise stopped. I even went outside with a flashlight, thinking I might be hallucinating due to being super tired from studying. But then it happened again while I was pulling an all-nighter! I tried yelling back, and it seemed to quiet down for a bit, but then I heard it again, this time inside my closet. I'm starting to wonder if this could be a psychological issue, but I can't really afford a doctor right now. It keeps happening, and I need to get rid of whatever this is. Any suggestions or experiences like this?

You might want to try putting some salt around your room. It's an old trick that some people believe keeps negative energies away. Could be worth a shot!

It definitely sounds like you're dealing with a lot of stress and exhaustion. It might help to talk to someone, even if it's just a friend. You’re not alone in this!

Honestly, it sounds like you're really stressed. Lack of sleep can mess with your mind and you might be experiencing some audio hallucinations. Make sure to get some decent rest – it's super important!

Have you considered that it might be barred owls? They can sound really creepy, almost like a person laughing. If you search for their calls online, you might find something similar to what you hear. Just a thought!

Curious_Explorer: I don't think so; my dorm is in a pretty urban area. The only wildlife around is stray dogs and cats.
