I came across a claim that new data centers are being built specifically to host billionaire brain copies. Is there any evidence for that, or is it speculation?
Are data centers really being built for brain copies?

The claim as presented doesn’t give evidence of a specific plan. A data center being large or powerful wouldn’t show what it’s intended for. The same infrastructure can serve many kinds of computing, so “could support a demanding project” and “was built for brain copies” are very different claims.

There are two big unknowns here: what someone means by a “brain copy,” and how much computing it would actually take. Without a concrete technical proposal, those huge-resource estimates are speculation too. I’d treat the story as an idea, not a report about what current facilities are secretly doing.
