One Year of Tarot: Tips for Continued Growth

Hey everyone! It's been almost a year since my mom gifted me her old Rider Waite deck last Christmas. Before that, she also gave me a Marseille deck, but I didn't stick with it as much because I preferred the Rider Waite. I had set myself a goal to learn Tarot by 2025, and even though I had some slower periods, I've been consistent overall. Reflecting on this past year, I'm really grateful for how Tarot has helped me connect with my intuition and my spiritual practice. Here are some practices that have really helped me along the way: - I try to pull a card or do a quick spread every day to stay connected. - I frequently refer to "The Ultimate Guide to Tarot" to explore card meanings and practice different spreads. - I've been keeping a tarot journal where I interpret cards and jot down my thoughts and feelings with each pull. - I listen to podcasts like "Weird Studies" for deeper dives into Tarot symbolism. - I love watching "Daily Tarot Girl" on YouTube for her engaging longer video formats. - When I feel drawn to a card, I dive deep—journaling, studying, and even visualizing it. I became so inspired by the Star card that I painted it! - When I have the time, I cleanse my space, meditate, and do yoga before a spread to connect with my spirit guides. - I don't read reversals because I find it simplifies my understanding of the meanings for now, but I'm open to changing that in the future. - For those just starting out, if you feel called to Tarot, go for it! It can be overwhelming at first, but with dedication, you'll discover a wealth of knowledge. In 2026, I want to keep honing my intuition and work towards interpreting spreads more independently. I'm also hoping to start doing readings for friends or family with more confidence. Do you have any tips, books, podcasts, or spreads that have been helpful for your Tarot journey?

If you're looking to deepen your understanding of Tarot, I suggest studying the basics of Kabbalah! The Rider Waite deck is heavily influenced by its principles, which can reveal hidden meanings and guidance. I often refer to the Kabbalistic Tree of Life for insights on different paths—it really connects the dots for me!

curious_journeyer: Sounds interesting! Any recommendations on where to start with Kabbalah? It seems pretty complex.
