When I meditate, brief images sometimes appear, but trying to make them clearer seems to make them fade. I also occasionally feel light or shifted. Is there a way to practice without getting caught up in those sensations?
How do I get better at meditating without chasing the images?

Try making the goal simply to notice when your attention wanders and gently return to one anchor, like the breath or the feeling of your feet. Keep sessions short at first, maybe five minutes. If an image pops up, label it “image” and let it pass instead of trying to sharpen it. That gives you a clear practice without turning each session into a test.

Visuals and floaty or shifting sensations can happen when you’re relaxed or focused. They don’t, by themselves, show that you’re developing psychic abilities. You could jot down a neutral note afterward, then leave the interpretation aside and see whether the practice is helping you feel settled.
If the sensations feel unpleasant, open your eyes, move around, and stop for the day. If unusual perceptions continue when you aren’t meditating or start interfering with daily life, consider talking with a health professional.
