Do You Use Salt Circles in Candle Magick?

I've been practicing Hermetic Kabbalah and the Golden Dawn techniques for some time now, and I really enjoy candle magick for its simplicity and effectiveness. Recently, I've been using salt circles around my candles almost instinctively. However, someone mentioned that these circles should only be used for specific purposes, which got me thinking: Do you use salt circles when performing candle magick? Is there a particular reason you choose to include or skip them? Thanks for your insights!

Sometimes I incorporate salt in my protection spells. It feels powerful when combined with the right intentions.

I'm curious about where you learned about using salt circles in candle magick. I’ve only used them for specific protection spells, usually mixing salt with herbs to enhance the effect. It’s interesting to consider how practices evolve over time.

I didn't come across salt circles in Hermetic Kabbalah or Golden Dawn teachings. For me, they only seem appropriate if I'm doing a more complex protection spell.

I typically use salt to cleanse and ground energy when doing spells. In candle magick, I focus on raising and directing energy, so I usually avoid using a salt circle unless I'm specifically trying to ground something.

CandleCrafter78: Totally agree! I’d recommend using chalk instead.
