Why Are Videos Getting Darker on YouTube and TV?

I've been noticing that the brightness on my TV seems off, and I've heard that videos on YouTube are appearing darker as well. Does anyone know why this is happening?

It might be a glitch or just some inconsistency in video processing. I've heard some people say it's to enhance the impact of certain content, but that seems suspicious. Have you tried Googling if others are experiencing this?

I haven't really seen any changes myself, but I like to keep my brightness lower since it's easier on the eyes. Maybe it’s worth checking your settings!

lightChaser92: Yeah, I've looked it up but didn't find a solid fix. Seems like people are just noticing darker content lately.
