Learning Tarot Through Music: Has Anyone Tried This?

I've come up with a unique way to learn tarot using music, which I've been experimenting with for a few months now. The idea is to choose a song you deeply connect with and listen to it while you shuffle your tarot cards. As the song plays, you let the lyrics lead your choices, and it's fascinating how the cards tend to reflect the themes of the song. I find that just going with the flow without overthinking it helps me not only understand the cards better but also enhance my appreciation of the music. I'm also considering trying this with movies, since their symbolism is often more straightforward. I'm curious if others have tried a similar approach and what their experiences have been!

I've created whole playlists that represent the cards because it's a blast to explore their meanings through music. Once you grasp the basics, you can even try mixing in reversed meanings or genre-specific songs. For movies, you could look at them as embodying the Major Arcana and categorize characters into the Minor Arcana. It opens up so much creative potential!

This sounds like such a fun idea! Just to clarify, are you asking the cards a specific question while listening, or are you just picking them based on how the song makes you feel? I'd love to know how you structure that part!

I actually do something similar with TV shows and movies for practice. Now I'm definitely inspired to incorporate music into my tarot sessions!

I totally get that! I select music that resonates with the arcana I'm focusing on, and it really helps me connect with their essence. Recently, I used Clint Mansell's "Lux Aeterna" for the Tower card—definitely intense and destructive, just perfect to embody that feeling!
