How Do You Learn Tarot When Meanings Seem to Differ?

I'm new to Tarot and feel a bit overwhelmed. I've taken courses, joined workshops, and consulted tons of guides, but it seems like every source offers different meanings and methods. For example, in a recent workshop, the instructor taught that if the card number is odd, the answer is NO, but if it's even, it's YES, regardless of the card's traditional meaning. In contrast, other resources suggest that the symbols and imagery of the cards provide the answers, while my mentor insists that every card can represent YES or NO depending on the context. I'm feeling confused with all these varying interpretations. How did you all go about learning Tarot? What helped you make sense of it?

I get where you’re coming from! It can be tricky when different teachers share their own techniques. I agree that it’s super important to start with the basic meanings of the cards, like what you find in the little white book that comes with your deck. Then, it’s all about practice! Spend time with the cards—lay one out, meditate on it, and see what messages come through for you. Everyone's interpretation can differ based on their experiences, so as you keep practicing, you’ll develop your own style. Also, remember that some don’t believe in using Tarot for yes/no questions at all, and that’s totally okay! Experiment and find what methods resonate with you.
