Why do I keep pulling Swords cards in my tarot readings?

I've recently started exploring tarot and have been pulling cards daily to familiarize myself with them. Some days I draw just one card while other days it's a full spread. Lately, I've observed that I'm pulling Swords cards a lot, especially in full spreads where it's mostly major arcana and Swords. I tend to spend a lot of time in my head, and I've been working on a particularly intense project at work that I think might be influencing my readings. I'd love to hear from more experienced readers about this phenomenon.

The Swords are all about the mind and thoughts, which makes sense since you mentioned being in your head. Just remember to shuffle your cards really well! I usually do a carpet shuffle for a thorough mix, then follow up with a bridge shuffle three times and a riffle shuffle three more times to prevent any sticking together.

You might want to try some grounding exercises or body work to really get in touch with your feelings. Starting a new creative project could help balance the energy and might shift the cards you pull.

I’ve been reading tarot for 30 years, and trust me, you’re doing a lot of mental gymnastics! It can really be exhausting when the cards reflect your thought processes so much.

That sounds totally normal! Swords often represent mental processes, analysis, and self-dialogue, so pulling them a lot aligns well with what you're experiencing. It seems your deck is reflecting your current mindset and helping you think things through more consciously.

I've been reading for about a month and had a week where I kept pulling Wands, but now I’m experiencing a similar thing with Swords. It seems to happen mostly in daily readings while my longer spreads have a more balanced mix.
