What Happened to My Necklace While I Slept?

I always keep my white gold chain on, even when I swim, shower, or sleep. This morning, I woke up to find it missing from my neck, and while searching for it in my bed, I discovered it was stuck on my back—still fully clasped and unbroken. I have a big head, making it hard to take the chain off without force, and the clasp is tricky for me to open because I have short nails. Has anyone else experienced something like this, or can you offer any explanations?

That's so strange! I had a similar experience with a watch once. My boyfriend (now husband) had just given it to me, and while I was showing him it was too big, it suddenly fell off into the couch. When we found it, I was shocked it was still intact and then discovered missing links in the cushions. We joked it must have been a helpful ghost!

Ever consider if you sleepwalk? I sometimes wake up and find my clothes folded beside my bed, and I have no memory of it. Perhaps you took the chain off while sleeping because it felt uncomfortable, and it just ended up back on you somehow.

Weird things like this do happen! I once wore a ring to bed and woke up to find it on my pinky instead of my ring finger. No idea how it moved, and it was too tight to just slide off. Have you ever thought you might be moving around in your sleep or having weird dreams? Sometimes people do things they don't remember!

I mean, on a wild side note, do you have roommates? They could be up to no good, or maybe it's just something supernatural like a ghost. I’d sage the house just in case!

Sounds like a classic ghost story to me! Definitely check for any spooky signs around the house.

Maybe you just moved around in your sleep and the clasp happened to open then close again? It’s a bit far-fetched but who knows!

sleepyTurtle: Totally agree! I've had nights where I wake up and things aren't where I left them, like clothes or pillows. It might just be sleep movements.
