What Do Three Knocks on My Bedroom Door Mean?

For the last two mornings at 7 AM, I've been abruptly woken up by three knocks on my bedroom door, and it's unsettling since nobody seems to be there. I live with my grandma, mom, and three little kids, but they were all asleep during those times. Initially, I wondered if it was my late grandpa trying to communicate, but I've heard that the number three can signify something ominous. My boyfriend and I are worried it might be something demonic or even a bad omen related to our potential pregnancy. Since my grandma just turned 78, I'm anxious about what these knocks could mean and hope they don't happen again. I'm just looking for some clarity or reassurance about this situation.

It’s interesting you mention that because I had something similar happen when I lived at my mom’s place. My mom and I both heard it and nothing bad occurred afterward. She ended up saying a prayer to cast away any negativity, which might be something for you to consider.

When it comes to weird knocks like that, a lot of people recommend not opening the door—it might let something in. Have you thought about cleansing your space? A good way to start is by burning sage, but if that’s not an option for you, there are other methods too. Just don’t let that door swing open if you hear it again!
answer_unavailable: I totally agree! When it happens, it’s best to stay cautious. Cleansing sounds like a great idea.
anxious_mind89: I’ve read that knocking can sometimes be a common sign from the other side, but it’s usually best not to engage.

There’s also something called Exploding Head Syndrome that might explain occasional waking to knocks or bangs. It’s linked to stress and seems to happen right before falling asleep or waking up. Do you think stress might play a role in all this?
sleepless_wonder: That might be it! I’ve definitely been feeling more stressed lately. It’s worth looking into.

I remember a family story about knocking. My relatives believed three knocks would signal bad news. One time, after hearing it, there was a tragic event shortly after. It’s always hard to ignore things like this. Just stay safe and carry a good vibe in your home!

You can use some alternative methods if sage isn’t your thing. Walking around each room with a candle or even washing the floors while saying a prayer can be effective too. You could also check out some old hoodoo traditions for other ways to cleanse your space.
thankful_echo: Thanks for the suggestions! I’ll look into those options. I appreciate it!
