What does it mean when a pendulum's chain breaks?

I recently let my friend borrow my pendulum, and after she was done, I started cleansing it with incense. While I was doing this, the chain broke, and the crystal fell to the floor. I'm curious about what this signifies, if anything. Is it just that the chain broke, or might there be a deeper meaning behind it?

Sounds like your friend didn’t exactly treat it with the care it deserves. Sometimes it really is just a mundane issue.

Some of these tools are quite personal! If it broke after being used by someone else, it might just mean it didn’t like being shared. Perhaps consider keeping it just for yourself from now on.

It definitely means the chain broke, but many believe that a broken chain could signify more. Some people think it might indicate that the pendulum wasn't happy with being used by someone else, or that it has served its purpose and is ready for a change. What do you think?

Honestly, this might just be a case of wear and tear. I’d say get a new chain. If it fell while cleansing, maybe just be careful next time! It’s not necessarily a bad sign.

If the crystal is fine, you might just need to get a new chain, which isn’t too hard. But if the crystal itself is broken, well, it could mean it has completed its work for you. Sometimes our tools retire when they’ve done their job.
