Navigating Witchcraft as Someone with OCD

Hey everyone! I'm a new witch and I'm curious about how to practice witchcraft while managing my OCD and anxiety. I have a history of negative spirals in my thoughts, especially when I fixate on worst-case scenarios. For instance, I once expressed fear about experiencing a miscarriage, and shortly after, it happened. This makes me anxious about manifesting negative outcomes through my practice. I'm aware that many people say talking about fears helps, but I struggle with the fear that acknowledging my worries might somehow cause them to come true. I'm sure there are other neurodivergent witches out there. Any tips or insights on tackling this challenge? Thanks in advance!

It's definitely important to adjust your practice if you have OCD. Many witches rely on repetition for spells and chants, but if that triggers your anxieties, remember that you don’t have to repeat things multiple times. Just doing an action once is completely valid, and your magic won't lose any effectiveness. Focus on your intention instead of getting stuck in counting or spiraling.

A lot of us here might relate to feeling neurodivergent in some way. If you're dealing with something like harm OCD, it might be helpful to work with a professional who can help you unpack those fears. Witchcraft should complement your mental health journey, not substitute for professional care.
