My Dog Ate an Offering—What Should I Do Now?

Hey everyone! I'm new to spiritual practices and recently set up a simple altar with offerings, incense holders, candles, a smudge bowl, and some crystals, all within a salt circle. Unfortunately, my family dog, who usually isn't allowed in my room, got curious and wreaked havoc on my altar. I managed to put everything back in place and cleansed the space with smoke.
My main concern is that she ended up eating an offering I left out. Since I work with Hecate, I initially thought this might be her way of sharing the offering with one of her symbols, but the offering was chocolate, which is definitely not safe for dogs. My dog is fine—just a small amount—but I'm worried about what this means for my connection with Hecate. How can I address this situation and salvage my practice?

Just say "bad dog" and get back to your normal routine! Accidents happen—don’t stress about it too much!

If your dog wasn’t harmed, I wouldn't worry too much. Many witches toss out edible offerings after a day for animals to finish. Maybe that was Hecate’s way of taking the offering? If it still causes you anxiety, just redo the offering!

Maybe just offer a little prayer to Hecate now? Acknowledge the situation and ask for understanding. I'm sure she’ll get it!

Dogs are actually considered sacred to Hecate, so you might be okay! Don't be too hard on yourself; it sounds like your heart is in the right place.
