If I've offered a drink, like wine or water, to a goddess or deity, what's the best way to handle any leftover liquid? Should I leave it at the altar in a cup, or is there a recommended practice for disposing of what's left?

I only share my offerings with animals like birds and other critters if I know they can safely consume it. It's important to respect the creatures while honoring my beliefs.

Have you looked into how offerings were traditionally handled in the context of your specific deity? Sometimes historical practices can give great insights into how to approach this.

There's really no one-size-fits-all answer. For me, I often use rice as an offering. If there's some left over, I just cook it and eat it later. For water, I pour it on my plants since I feel like that gives back to nature and it's a nice way to honor the offering.

For my food and drink offerings to Aphrodite, I like to leave it with a tea light candle. Once the candle goes out, I drink it myself, using that time to connect with Her. If the food needs to be eaten quickly to stay fresh, I’ll just eat it on the spot and acknowledge it as an offering.

When it comes to leftover offerings, I usually prefer to either burn or bury them if it's safe to do so. It's all about what feels right for you and what respects the earth.
