Hey everyone! I'm just starting my journey into witchcraft and my boyfriend gifted me 'The Book of Spells' by Marie Bruce. I've read the introduction, but haven't started the spells yet. Before diving in, I wanted to get a sense of what others think about the author and her work since I've seen mixed reviews. So far, I find the book easy to understand as a beginner, but I'm curious about the overall quality of the information provided. If anyone has read it, I would really appreciate your thoughts! Thanks in advance!

Honestly, while it's true some authors may be frantically churning out content, I think every book has something to offer. Just take what feels right! 'The Book of Spells' has some basic info that can definitely help beginners find their footing.

I've got to say, I've got my doubts about Marie Bruce. Some authors in the witchcraft scene feel more like pen names than real people, and Bruce is one of them. Her bio seems super vague, and it’s hard to find any authentic social media or photos of her. Just a lot of 101-level stuff without much depth.

curiousCat99: That's really interesting! It does feel like those kinds of books sometimes look great but lack real substance inside.

enchantedEarth: Totally agree! It’s frustrating when a book has a beautiful cover but the content doesn’t match.
