Experiencing Odd Sensations After Starting Meditation—Is This Common?

Hey folks, I recently began my meditation journey about a month ago, focusing mainly on guided sessions. Since then, I've been feeling a really intense pressure in my third eye area, almost like it's going to burst. Along with that, I've started to sense a strong presence in my room, which feels like someone is actually there. I keep catching glimpses of shadows from the corner of my eye, but when I look directly, there's nothing—it's consistent in the same spot and doesn't move. This presence feels incredibly intense, and I'm not sure what I should make of it, especially since I'm quite new to meditation and this whole process. Has anyone else gone through something similar?

You're definitely not alone in this experience! I had something similar happen after meditating with amethyst on my third eye. It felt like a portal opened, and I often sensed a presence while trying to sleep. I eventually reached out to a shaman who helped me with energy protection techniques. If the feelings become overwhelming, I’d suggest finding someone who can support you with this.

Honestly, it sounds like your mind is just taking you on a wild ride. If you're getting weird feelings from meditation, try not to overthink it. Meditation should be about finding peace and connecting with yourself, not getting caught up in supernatural concerns. Just focus on calming your mind—it's all in your head, so don’t let it stress you out!

As you explore meditation, it's common to face unexpected experiences. The pressure and presence you're describing can be unsettling but are often part of the journey. It's all about how you interpret these sensations. According to meditation teacher Shinzen Young, the more you observe your experiences without judgment, the more you can understand and gain insight from them. How do you feel about these sensations, and do they lead you to any questions about your meditation practice?

It sounds like you might be tapping into some deeper energies as you meditate. The pressure you're feeling in your third eye and the presence are not uncommon for those starting out. Many people report similar sensations. It could be your energy opening up, but it’s also important to stay grounded. Have you thought about balancing your lower chakras first before continuing with the higher ones? It can help to build a strong foundation before opening your third eye.
