Question

What Went Wrong with My Cord Cutting Ritual?

Hi everyone! I recently tried a cord cutting ritual to help me move on from my ex, but instead of the candles burning as I expected, they both seemed to be at the cord at the same time. One candle flickered near the twine but didn't ignite it, and then the other candle flipped the cord away, almost like it was repelling it. I've done this kind of ritual before, but I've never experienced anything like this. Should I reset my focus and attempt it again? Any insights or tips would be appreciated! Thanks!

Just remember, if you're going to do a cord cutting, you need to be ready to completely let go! If you still have ties or contact with your ex, it might be forming new connections, so consider blocking them on social media or cutting off communication. That helps the process a lot!

heartSeeker88: Totally agree! Going through the motions of the ritual is just part of it; you have to take steps in real life too.

Also, the whole candle method is more for show sometimes. It can be better to focus on visualization and intention rather than relying on flames. Think about what it means to you to cut that cord, even beyond the ritual part!

It sounds like you actually ended up doing a cord burning rather than a proper cord cutting. You want to make sure you're severing that energetic connection, not burning it in a way that could bring it back or create new ties. Maybe try using scissors or a blade with a string, rather than candles this time. Best to keep it simple and direct with your intentions!

starrySkies123: Yeah, the candles can sometimes complicate things! Using a string and cutting it is way clearer for the energy to shift.
