Question

Looking for Tarot Resources with an Anti-Oppression Perspective

I'm getting back into tarot and finding it challenging to locate resources that align with my worldview and life experiences. I often come across content laden with heteronormative and cisnormative perspectives, like relationships discussed in overly gendered ways, and there's a prevalent obsession with 'masculine' and 'feminine' energies that can feel transphobic. I'm really looking for materials that take into account the struggles of oppressed populations. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Check out Little Red Tarot! They highlight queer, trans, and BIPOC art and magic, so you might discover a deck that really resonates with you there. It's a great place to start your search! :)

Tarot has become super popular lately, kind of like when the ukulele made a comeback! But with that popularity, there's a lot of fluff out there. You might want to be cautious about resources, as they can often reflect outdated vibes.

Gummy Bear Tarot is a fun option that uses gummy bears as imagery! It's very gender-neutral and a playful take on the whole thing!

Here are some great resources I found: the Queer Tarot deck, Fifth Spirit Tarot deck, Tarot for You and Me deck, Jasbeck's Nonbinary Tarot, Dreamers Tarot deck, Trinity Tarot deck, and even a decolonialized tarot deck along with a guidebook!

I totally relate to your struggle! For a deck, I recommend the Modern Spellcasters Tarot. It's inclusive of queer and POC perspectives and comes with a detailed guidebook that skips the usual divine feminine/masculine talk. My favorite part? The Four of Wands features an interracial lesbian couple, which I think is awesome! I also use Labyrinthos and sometimes Biddy Tarot for online resources.
