How Have Your Tarot Card Interpretations Evolved Over Time?

I've been diving into the world of Tarot and it's been such a fascinating journey! Since I started practicing daily back in September, I've really been trying to connect with my deck on a deeper level. Over time, I've noticed that my interpretations of certain cards have changed quite a bit. For instance, I used to view the Wheel of Fortune as merely a sign of good or bad luck depending on where it landed in a spread. Now, I see it more as a reminder that fate is often out of my control; life is full of ups and downs that we just have to navigate. Another example is the Emperor card. At first, I thought it was just a weird figure with an abstract meaning of control, but I've come to realize that the Emperor actually represents how I want to perceive myself and the qualities I wish to show to others. Some cards haven't shifted so dramatically in my understanding, but I've built a solid set of go-to interpretations that I find helpful when I'm doing readings. I'm curious about your experiences — have your interpretations of any tarot cards changed over time? Do you have any unconventional takes on them?

I’m pretty much a beginner in tarot, but when I pulled The Tower in a reading, it gave me a serious anxiety moment! I panicked and had to dig deep into its meaning afterward. Now I get it as a symbol of breaking away from old beliefs and welcoming sudden change. I’m still learning, but this community has been a big help!

I sometimes see the 8 of Wands as a sign of jealousy. It really depends on the context and what other cards are around it for me to interpret that way!

Curious_Reader: That's a cool take! I’ve never thought about it representing jealousy. Could you share more about how you arrived at that interpretation?

Whenever I pull the Queen of Pentacles, I jokingly say it means we’re having a baby! It sounds funny, but it’s happened twice for us, and even came up in a friend's reading. I might start telling people to either get some condoms or clear out the spare room!

Family_Fanatic: I totally get that! To me, the Queen of Pentacles is also about my wife — it’s like our family card.
