I get episodes of pain across my body and a strong feeling as if something could be pulled from the bottom of my foot. Medical tests so far have not shown a cause. What would be a sensible next step?
Could this pulling feeling in my feet be connected to my body pain?

Normal lab results are useful, but they do not rule out every possible cause of pain or unusual sensations. Bring this specific pulling feeling up with a clinician and ask whether a focused exam or follow-up is appropriate. If the symptoms are changing or getting worse, mention that too.

I’d keep a simple note of when an episode starts, how long it lasts, where the pain is, and anything that seems to set it off or ease it. That can give a clinician more to work with than trying to recall everything during an appointment. Avoid trying to forcefully pull or stretch the foot to make the sensation stop.

The sensation can feel very specific without telling you what is causing it. I wouldn’t assume it has a spiritual explanation, or that the foot is necessarily the source of pain elsewhere. If you develop sudden severe pain, new weakness or numbness, trouble walking, or other alarming symptoms, seek urgent medical care.
