Can I Use a Bookshelf Shelf as an Altar?

I'm adding a new bookshelf to my bedroom and I'm curious if I can use one of the shelves for my altar. I'm also thinking about getting some floating shelves for my witchy items and using the main bookshelf solely for books. I already know to keep candles away from flammable stuff and avoid having a shelf above if I'm using one for an altar.

Of course you can! Some folks even have portable altars that they can take with them. It's all about making it work for you.

Absolutely! Just be really cautious about fire safety—if you have candles on the altar shelf, make sure there isn't a shelf directly above it, as it could get scorched or catch fire. Electric candles are a great alternative if you're worried about that.

It really works for me! I keep separate altars close together but make sure not to place candles on those.

Yes! I display my altars on my bookshelves, but do keep in mind to avoid using candles on a shelf that has another one above it.
