Question

Am I Doing Something Wrong with My Occult Practices?

Hey everyone, I'm 18 and have been into occultism since 2024, but my fascination with magic started back when I was 12. I've dived into various practices like chaos magic, sigils, and goetia. However, I'm feeling a bit lost since my results often vary—sometimes they work, but other times not at all, and definitely not in the way I expect. I also don't seem to have the sensory experiences that others talk about, like seeing or hearing things, which has me questioning if there's something wrong with my approach. Is it a lack of ability, something I'm missing in my studies, or what? I'm hoping things will improve with time, but I'm unsure how to proceed. I wanted to share more, but the platform had some restrictions.

Establishing a daily practice is crucial. Imagine your psychic senses as muscles—you need to train them regularly to see improvements. Meditation can help a lot with this, so try making it a part of your routine.

I recommend honing in on your body’s intuition—it can be very helpful. For example, tuning into physical sensations can guide you through magical practices. This could help you feel more grounded and potentially open up more to experiences as you progress. Listen to those subtle cues—they can lead to reliable insights!

If you're getting mixed results, it might be a sign to check on your focus and intent. Think of your will as energy; you want to make sure it's strong and connected properly. It's also worth remembering that 2024 isn't that far back in terms of practice—you might need to give it time and revisit your feelings about it in a decade or so!

Not everyone senses magic the same way. I've been practicing since 1996 and I’ve never seen anything magical. I once had an auditory experience, but overall, I've found that I can sense energy with my hands—like a buzzing sensation. You can still do effective magic without a strong sensory experience. Maybe you just have a different kind of sensitivity, and that’s perfectly fine!

You're already on the right path by recognizing that your magic doesn't work all the time. It's great that you can admit that—many don't. The key is to enjoy the journey of learning and practicing. It's not about perfection, it's about progressing.

QuestingSoul: Absolutely! It's all about the experience and growth. Embrace the ups and downs!
