Question

Why Do Occultists Share Their Messages If They're Supposedly Hidden?

I'm really curious about this: if occultists work hard to conceal the meanings of their messages, what's the point of sharing them in the first place? I've noticed a lot of this happening in the music industry, movies, and other areas of media. Can anyone shed some light on this?

Honestly, I think a lot of what's labeled as occult is just people trying to be edgy or market themselves. There’s not really a secret communication going on. Occult symbols often just look cool and are chosen for artistic flair, not because they’re trying to send a hidden message to anyone.

MasonGuy23: Exactly! As someone in a Masonic lodge, I can tell you that while we have secret handshakes, they aren't for public display. The idea of spotting someone's 'hidden message' in a photo is usually way off base.

ArtDude_042: And I agree; I used to work in media, and the use of such symbols often comes down to style rather than any secret agenda. They just think it looks impressive.

In many cases, it’s just marketing. The aesthetic of mystery grabs attention and gives things a spooky edge. People can also get carried away seeing hidden meanings where there are none. Plus, some practitioners do share to help those who have similar experiences understand them better. It's more about personal interpretation than a real occult agenda.

SuperCuriousCat: True! And it seems like every new age idea nowadays comes from someone’s personal experiences rather than strict teachings.

ResearchNerd99: Exactly! Plus, a lot of history behind these symbols is misinterpreted or oversimplified in today's context.

There’s also this aspect of how knowledge is sometimes kept within certain groups. Historical practices like hermeticism and gnosticism focused on sharing secret teachings with only a select few, and that tradition still influences how some things are presented today.

The symbols you’re seeing aren't always about secrecy; many are archetypes that appear across cultures. They can communicate at a subconscious level, whether in music, art, or film. Creatives often just include these because they resonate with people or evoke a certain feeling, not necessarily to hide a deeper truth.

InsightfulMind: Yeah, that makes sense! It’s like using imagery to tap into collective emotions or ideas, right? It's not necessarily about conspiracies.

NerdyMasonFan: Absolutely! And some historical aspects of these symbols, especially in modern contexts, are often lost in translation. It’s fascinating how versatile they are!

Some people do believe in the power of these symbols and use them intentionally to convey deeper meanings. Whether or not that's valid, the interpretation can often vary depending on personal beliefs or experiences.
