Getting Back into Witchcraft After a Break

Hey everyone! I started practicing witchcraft at 16 and really felt connected to it—it was like I finally found my spiritual path. I dabbled in spells, meditation, and even had conversations with my deity and came up with a witch name. However, I never had an altar because I worried about what my parents would think, and I wasn't sure how to create a subtle one that wouldn't stand out too much. Fast forward to almost 30 now. My belief in my deity hasn't faded; I still talk to them often. But during college, my practice dwindled to nearly nothing, and I don't celebrate the holidays like I used to. I really miss actively practicing. With a baby and a skeptical husband who doesn't take my beliefs seriously, I feel apprehensive about practicing openly again. I'd love to hear similar experiences and ideas on how to jump back into my witchcraft practice! 💖

A great way to start is by going back to basics. Even if you have a busy schedule, try to incorporate small practices into your daily routine. Meditation can be really beneficial, even if it's just for a few minutes while your baby naps. I often listen to guided meditations that help me connect with my energy. You can also set intentions when cooking or preparing meals; just saying things like "I send love into this food" can infuse your routine with your practice. Remember, nurturing yourself is also a part of being a witch!
NatureChaser82: Totally agree! It's important to keep it simple at first, especially with little ones around. Connecting with nature—even from indoors—can be powerful. I've visualized roots growing from my feet into the earth while sitting at home. You’re still grounding yourself even if you can’t go outside!

Don’t forget to be compassionate with yourself during this transition! Your time is precious, so even small efforts count as practicing. Try setting aside a few minutes for gratitude each day or write down any positive experiences you want to connect with your spiritual side. Every little bit helps in reigniting that spark!
