I’ve seen discussion of police files that reportedly clarify this old disappearance. Do they establish what happened, or mainly rule out some of the more speculative claims?
Do the newly surfaced files really solve this disappearance?

They seem to support that this was a real missing-person case, not a fabricated mystery. But confirming the case was real is different from proving where the person went or what happened afterward.

The account being discussed reportedly suggests a voluntary departure, with Puerto Rico mentioned as a possible later location. That sounds like a lead or interpretation, not firm confirmation of her whereabouts.

I’d read “closed” carefully. Police closing a file can reflect their assessment of the available information, but it doesn’t automatically mean every detail is known or independently verified. The files may clarify the story without fully solving it.
