There is a lot of alarming talk about conspiracies and history repeating itself. How do you step back from it and figure out what to do?

Take a break from the material for a while, especially if it is making you anxious or angry. Check specific claims against reliable sources instead of trying to make one big story explain everything, and talk it through with someone you trust.

If this is tipping into thoughts about hurting anyone, put distance between yourself and anything you could use as a weapon, and get another person involved now. Contact local emergency services or a crisis line if you might act on those thoughts. You do not have to handle that moment alone.

Even if you are not sure what you would do, tell someone plainly that you feel overwhelmed and ask them to stay with you or help you get support.
