I’ve seen a claim linking Texas cannabis restrictions to a supposed US-Israel military merger. Is there evidence for that connection, or are these separate issues being discussed at the same time?
Is the Texas cannabis issue actually distracting from a US-Israel military deal?

Timing by itself doesn’t show one issue was meant to distract from another. I’d look for a specific, documented agreement or policy change, then check whether reliable reporting connects it to the Texas debate. Without that link, the distraction claim is speculation.

It’s possible for political topics to compete for attention without one being planned to hide the other. The phrase “military merger” also needs clarification. If it means a particular agreement, the claim should point to what changed, who announced it, and when.
