How do you mark the summer solstice, and what do you make of herb readings?

I’m looking for simple ways to celebrate the longest day and curious about using herbs as a symbolic prompt for thinking about the coming winter. What works for you?

A celebration can be as simple as spending some time outside, making a flower crown, or sharing a meal with people you like. If you’re reading herbs, you could treat what you notice as a prompt for reflection rather than a dependable forecast. Write down what each plant brings to mind, then revisit it as the seasons change.

I’d keep the herb part grounded and curious. Note the plants you actually recognize and what they mean to you, but don’t assume they can reliably predict the winter. And if you’re gathering anything, make sure you can identify it safely. There’s no need to eat or brew an unfamiliar plant to include it in a ritual.
