I’m seeing posts about a person apparently hurting himself during a livestream, along with claims about who he follows online. Is there a reliable way to check what happened without spreading rumors or sharing harmful footage?
Has anyone been able to verify what happened in that livestream?

If the stream is still happening and the person can be identified, report it through the platform’s urgent safety tools. If you know where they are, contact local emergency services. Don’t repost clips or try to investigate by contacting people around them.

A social media follow is not evidence of a personal connection, let alone involvement in an incident. I’d wait for a credible confirmation of the basic facts and treat claims about motives or other people as unverified in the meantime.

Also, don’t keep watching or circulate graphic footage. If you come across it, use the platform’s reporting option and move on. Speculation can add harm for the person involved and for anyone close to them, while a follow list rarely tells you what actually happened.

That makes sense. The follow seems to be doing most of the work in the posts I’ve seen.
