I keep seeing the same jokes repeated and stretched out across discussions. Do they make it harder to find actual information, or are they just part of the fun?
Do repeated joke threads make it harder to find useful replies?

When a familiar joke takes over a long run of replies, the useful details can get buried. A quick joke is one thing. Seeing the same bit repeated under every post gets tiring, especially when you came looking for an answer.

Jokes can make a discussion feel less dry, so I wouldn't want every reply to be strictly practical. The problem seems more about repetition and length. If the joke keeps going long after it has landed, it crowds out anything new.
