Connecting with Tree Spirits: What Happens When They Are Cut Down?

I've had a deep connection with a sugar maple tree on my property for almost six years. This tree, about 35 years old, has a unique energy that I believe supports my magical practices. Recently, though, she's started shedding branches and even dropped a large limb last April. I fear she may need to be taken down in the future due to her soft wood, and I'm heartbroken at the thought. I'm curious about what happens to her spirit if that happens. Have any of you experienced something similar with a tree and have advice or insights on how to handle this situation?

From what I understand, tree spirits have a different understanding of existence. They know when their time is nearing its end and usually send their life energy back into the earth. Even if the physical tree is taken down, its spirit returns to the collective with other trees, so it continues to exist in a sense. Your maple feels your love for her, and that connection transcends even her physical form.

Wow, I felt a strong connection just looking at your tree! She has such a presence. If her spirit does depart, remember, she'll be among other trees around her. Trees are all interconnected through their root systems. They have a way of maintaining that bond and energy, even after death. Don't worry too much—she’ll still be around in spirit!
