Comparing BOTA and Quareia: Which is Better?

Hey everyone! I recently spent $18 on a month's access to BOTA to check out what they offer, and I've also come across Quareia in an occult group. Can anyone compare the two schools for me? I know BOTA costs $18 a month, while Quareia is completely free. BOTA has a solid reputation and seems quite comprehensive, but I feel like there's less information available about Quareia. I'm counting on you all for your experiences!

Quareia is a well-crafted free resource, but it just didn’t click with me. If you can manage it, sticking with BOTA seems like a good choice. Also, if you're near a bigger city, look into legitimate lodges like Rosæ Crucis or Golden Dawn with qualified practitioners. Having a local community and guidance is often more beneficial than going it alone.

I lean towards BOTA because what they teach seems to align better with traditional western occult practices you'll come across in other materials. Quareia, while free and accessible, often ventures into territory that feels a bit out there, like having to cleanse tarot decks using bags of salt to rid them of negativity. Honestly, I've never encountered that practice outside of Quareia and some new age circles. For Tarot, I'd say BOTA is the best path as it connects well with broader traditional systems and will likely make other teachings easier to grasp.

I've worked through beginner modules in both, and I think they each have their strengths. If you're interested in practical magic, Quareia dives into that pretty fast, which is great. However, they can adopt a tone that suggests there's a single right method, which might bug some people. On the other hand, BOTA focuses on deeper meditation and understanding archetypes, yielding valuable self-insights, though at a slower pace.

Honestly, I wouldn’t pay $18 a month either. It feels like a lot when there are free resources out there!
