How Can I Overcome My Fear of the Dark?

I've been struggling with a fear of the dark, which seems to stem from my fear of the unknown and thoughts about demons, negative energies, and spirits. I know that embracing the darkness is an important part of my practice, especially as someone exploring witchcraft, but I'm still quite new to it. Sometimes, encountering spiritual presences can really scare me. What are some ways I can confront and overcome these fears?

Building your self-confidence is key. Work on grounding and shielding techniques to create a sense of safety. Remember, you hold the power in your space; those spirits are just like unfamiliar visitors. You can command them to leave your space just as you would anyone else. Embracing your inner strength will help you face your fears.

A great starting point is shadow work. Delve into your internal fears and confront the darkness within yourself. Once you do that, the external darkness won't seem as intimidating. Recognizing the shadows in others may be reflecting your own insecurities, so understanding that can lessen the fear.

First off, you're not alone in feeling this way—many people do. It can help to think about fear in general; it’s often tied to a fear of being attacked. Increasing your situational awareness in the dark can empower you. Use your other senses and learn how to stay alert without being overly cautious.
