Does this sky lineup actually mean anything?

I saw a claim about a new moon near perigee, Venus and Jupiter appearing close, and the date coinciding with Donald Trump’s 80th birthday. Is there a solid reason to read that as significant, or is it mostly a coincidence with astrology layered on top?

The astronomy and the interpretation are separate things. A new moon is generally hard to see because its sunlit side faces away from us. “Supermoon” is used loosely, and it’s more commonly applied to full moons. Any apparent closeness between Venus and Jupiter is a view from Earth, not a sign that the planets are physically lined up nearby. Visibility also depends on where and when you look.

The birthday overlap can be striking, but it doesn’t by itself show that the events are connected or planned.

If someone uses astrology, they might treat a Gemini new moon as a symbol for communication, ideas, or fresh starts. That can be a personal or cultural way to mark the date, but it isn’t evidence that a political event or ritual is being arranged. The birthday coincidence is interesting, not proof of a cause.
