I can focus inward and bring on a distinct, centered physical sensation, then make it stronger or let it fade. Does this have a common name, or is it better understood as a personal way of noticing bodily sensations?
Can you intentionally gather a sensation inside your body?
Answers
One ordinary term that may fit is interoception, which is noticing sensations from inside your body. Attention can make a subtle sensation feel more vivid, and people may describe that experience in different ways. There may not be one specific name for this particular feeling.

In energy-work settings, people might describe it as gathering or concentrating energy. That can be a meaningful way to talk about the experience, but the sensation by itself does not establish that a separate or measurable energy is moving. You can keep the description that feels useful while staying open about what causes it.

If you want to get a clearer sense of what is happening, try noticing what changes along with it: your breathing, posture, muscle tension, warmth, or pulse. You do not need to force the sensation or explain it right away. If it becomes distressing, happens when you are not trying to create it, or comes with other worrying symptoms, consider discussing it with a healthcare professional.
