Can You Cast Spells on Someone Without Knowing Their Name?

I've been curious about the idea of placing spells on someone, but what if you don't have any information about them aside from a random photo? They're located in another country, which makes it even trickier. I'm hesitant about using something like a hex or curse without knowing more, especially since I don't want to deal with any negative repercussions or karmic blowback. I'm mostly just wondering how this might work out of curiosity.

Interesting perspective! What if you know someone only through their relation to another person? It's a tricky scenario, especially if you want to influence someone indirectly.

As a magician, I often assign names to things to link them. You can use placeholders in your spellwork—for instance, if I refer to you as 'x,' that gives me a direct connection to you. It's a unique approach, and you can adapt this for various forms of spellcasting, even when you don’t have much info on a person.

Absolutely! A name is helpful for linking to a target, but it's not the only way to create that connection. There are other methods to establish sympathetic links in your spellwork.

You definitely can cast spells without a name! The name is just there to help create a connection. You can still achieve results without it, though you might experience different outcomes.

Echo_Spells: Thanks for clarifying! I appreciate it. I had this notion stuck in my head that I really needed a name or a personal item.
Starry_Artisan: You can definitely link through other means! It’s about the intention behind your work.
