Can anyone help make sense of a strange sighting I had?

Years ago, I briefly saw a humanoid-looking figure in the back seat of my car. It had pale, wrinkled skin and unusually long fingers, then disappeared after a couple of seconds. I remember feeling watched and frightened. Is there enough here to identify what I saw, or are there more ordinary explanations to consider?

There probably isn’t enough detail to identify a specific being. A brief, startling glimpse can feel vivid while leaving lots of room for the mind to fill in what wasn’t clearly seen. Low light, reflections in the glass, or something in the car’s interior could all affect how a shape looked. That doesn’t tell us exactly what happened, but it’s a sensible place to start.

The feeling of menace is part of how you remember the event, but it can’t establish what caused the image. Our brains are quick to interpret an unclear shape as a person, especially when surprised or scared. Years later, the memory may also retain the strongest details while losing the conditions around them, like lighting and where you were looking.

People might compare that description to figures from ghost stories or creature folklore, but those comparisons vary a lot and don’t provide a reliable identification. If you’re curious, it may help to write down what you recall separately from what you’ve read or heard since. For a one-time event years ago, there may simply be no way to know more.
