I had an intense experience that felt like communication from a nonphysical presence, and I took away some advice about looking after myself and staying receptive. Now I’m eager for it to happen again and worry that wanting contact so much is making me force it. Is it better to let go of expectations?
Am I trying too hard to reconnect?

Wanting another meaningful experience doesn’t make you clingy. But you can’t reliably know what a presence, if that’s how you understand it, wants or thinks. I’d treat the self-care suggestions as useful on their own terms, and try not to make them a checklist for earning another encounter.
It may help to leave room for either outcome: it happens again, or it doesn’t. That takes some pressure off the whole thing.

Maybe set a simple boundary with yourself: no trying to provoke contact, and no interpreting every odd thought or coincidence as a message. If you want, jot down what you noticed and how you felt, while keeping observations separate from your explanation for them. Then go back to ordinary life.
Sleep, food, movement, and meditation are good habits to build for your own sake, not as a way to get a result.

I wouldn’t spend a lot of energy guessing whether you’re putting anyone off. You had an experience that felt powerful, and it makes sense to be curious about it. You’re also allowed to stop focusing on it for a while.
If the experiences start disrupting sleep or daily life, feel frightening, or seem to pressure you into doing things, talk it through with someone you trust or a mental health professional. You don’t have to settle what caused it before asking for support.
