Using Menstrual Blood in Spells for Protection and Luck: Is It Safe?

Hey everyone! I'm pretty new to the practice and have been looking into using menstrual blood in spells, specifically for protection and luck. I recently made a protection spell jar using symbols for protection and luck, and added some of my menstrual blood while focusing on bringing positive energy to myself and my husband. However, after doing this, I stumbled upon warnings about blood magic potentially backfiring. Now I'm super anxious because I didn't include my kids in this spell and I'm worried something could happen to them. Should I create a separate protection spell just for my children? I'm usually pretty anxious, so I'm looking for some guidance here!

Be cautious with the sources you’re learning from. There are a lot of misleading videos out there. Blood magic can be perfectly fine, especially for self-protection spells. It might even enhance the power of your work, but trust your intuition about what feels right for you.

That sounds really interesting! I’m new to witchcraft too and get anxious quite easily, but I keep some tourmaline on me for protection and do a little mantra for keeping negative energy away. I hope you're feeling protected—sending good vibes to you and your family!

I wouldn’t stress too much! The key here is your intention. You used your blood with the hope of bringing good fortune to yourself and your family, so that’s what it’s likely to manifest. Also, a lot of the cautionary videos might be about blood in general, not specifically menstrual blood. Many practitioners believe menstrual blood is unique because it doesn't originate from harm or violence, setting it apart from other types of blood used in spells.

Anxious_Alchemist: Thanks for your reassurance! You're right about the conflicting info out there. I'm planning to do another protection spell during the full moon for the kids; I just panicked after seeing those videos.

Spirit_Supporter: Absolutely, intention is crucial! I’ve used my own blood for things like prosperity and protection too, and it's all about the energy you put behind it. As long as it's willingly given, it can be seen as a blessing.

When I first moved into a new place with my kids, I placed a drop of menstrual blood above each doorway as a protective measure. I can’t say for sure if it worked, but I felt safer. Just so you know, my house was haunted, which made me wonder if that kept the spirit around. But hey, he was harmless!
