I’ve been thinking about light and dark as complementary forces rather than opposites. Does it make sense to draw on both, or can that idea become a way of forcing balance where it isn’t needed?
Do the sun and moon work better as a pair?

As symbols, they can point to different needs: activity and rest, clarity and reflection, outward focus and inward attention. Using both as a prompt to notice what’s missing seems useful. That doesn’t mean every person or practice needs an exact split.

I’d be careful about treating “light” and “dark” as fixed moral categories. People use those words in different ways, and sometimes a practice that feels intense or shadowy can still serve a constructive purpose. The results and intentions matter more than keeping the imagery perfectly balanced.
