Do jars block a spell that’s meant to draw things in?

I’ve heard that jars can symbolize trapping or containing energy, so I’m unsure whether one fits a spell meant to attract something new. I’m also wondering whether putting a personal taglock in a protective ward could blur what the ward is meant to repel. How do you think about the choice of container?

I wouldn’t treat glass as having one fixed meaning. A jar can represent holding a working steady, while the ingredients and your intention do the inviting. If the idea of a sealed container feels at odds with a particular goal, though, choosing another form may make the working feel clearer to you.

For a ward, a taglock can make the protection specifically about the person it’s meant to protect. That doesn’t automatically mean the unpleasant ingredients get directed at them. If the association makes you uneasy, leave the taglock out or use a written name instead, and keep the ward’s purpose simple and explicit.

I’d choose the container by what it needs to do in practice. A fabric pouch is easy to open or refresh, but it won’t necessarily mean “open” symbolically unless that’s how you understand it. For irritating or messy materials, a closed, clearly labeled container is more practical than a porous bag. Keep it somewhere it won’t spill or be mistaken for something usable.
